eliminatorias
hi bcb,
if used as a noun speaking of the rounds of a competition where rivals have to knock one another out in order to progress, then in spain we call them eliminatorias.
if speaking of the way of deciding the winner of a competition after two or more competitors have acheived the same score (such as in golf), then we would call it "desempate" (lit. "tie-breaker")
finally, if you wish, you may also leave it in english, since it is very widely used this way (check out google in spanish for 14,000-plus hits)
