: This is a capital or wealth tax automatically chargeable on LIFETIME estates and interests exceeding Euros 600,000 -> www.fiscal-impuestos.com. The only thing in common with IT or ex-capital transfer tax in the UK is a similar threshold.

Liability to capital gains tax (CGT)
CGT is charged on net gains, ie total chargeable gains realised during a tax year after deducting total allowable losses realised in the year. CGT can only arise on the disposal of an asset. Normally this means sale, but it could also mean gift or compensation for loss or damage to an asset.

Estate Tax
Pure and simple. It's the tax that government collects on the estate including property, simply for it being there, not owing to gains or other capitalizations.
