Hi there,
The term appears in an instructions sheet for the application of a coating. Context:
After spraying the urethane material, pull tape and masking materials 15-30 minutes after application.
Pull tape and masking materials in such a manner so that if any ****stringing**** occurs that it falls back onto a previously sprayed area.
What is it meant by "stringing"?
Thanks!
Ignacio

tape border residue
The tape you use for masking is likely to be soiled / partially covered with the material. Be careful not to allow the "strings" of semi-dry material to drop from the edge of the tape and soil the part of the surface you've been trying to protect by using the tape...

Just in case the answer is not quite clear - I did not mean to imply that we\'re talking about parts/fibers/whatever coming off the tape. It is the coating (as jccantrell suggests). Thought I made that clear, but I see how it may be confusing if you only read that I\'ve suggested it\'s \"tape border residue\"...

See this link. It refers to the coating, and not the tape.
